Transform emotions into visual language
Moodie is an app designed to translate emotions into unique visual experiences. Through an intuitive system, the app transforms what you feel into a personalized sticker, helping users not only express themselves, but also identify, name, and better understand their own emotions.
In a context where putting feelings into words can often be difficult, Moodie acts as a bridge between emotion and communication. Its main purpose emerges in emotionally complex situations, where users seek a more visual, honest, and direct way to express their emotional state to others.
The project was developed around the idea of emotional accessibility within digital communication. Through an interactive and guided experience, the app encourages users to reflect on what they are feeling in a simple and approachable way. By answering a short series of questions, Moodie detects both the type and intensity of the emotion, offering one or two possible emotional interpretations based on the user's responses.
Using this emotional analysis, the system automatically generates a unique sticker that visually represents the user’s emotional state. Each result varies through color, expression, composition, and graphic elements, creating a personalized visual identity for every emotion.
Additionally, Moodie allows users to freely describe a specific situation or feeling in their own words. Through this input, the app identifies the most accurate emotional concept and translates it into both a visual representation and a clear emotional label.
As an added layer, the app integrates a glossary inspired by the wheel of emotions, explaining emotional concepts in an accessible and contemporary language adapted to current generations. This feature not only helps users understand their feelings more naturally, but also promotes emotional education through everyday digital interaction.
Moodie is not only a communication tool, but a new form of emotional literacy adapted to the digital era.
Sticker as
a visual language of emotion
Moodie transforms emotions into dynamic visual stickers built from a single core shape: the circle. Soft, expressive, and constantly adaptable, the circle becomes the emotional base of the entire visual system, allowing feelings to be represented in a simple yet powerful way.
The choice of the circle goes beyond aesthetics. Emotion is fluid, changing, and difficult to define, and the circle naturally reflects these qualities through movement, continuity, and transformation. Unlike rigid geometric forms, circles feel organic, emotional, and alive, making them the ideal structure for representing internal states visually.
In Moodie, every emotion appears as a circular composition that changes depending on the user’s answers. Through variations in color, distortion, expression, texture, fragmentation, and movement, the circles evolve into unique emotional stickers that communicate a specific feeling and intensity.
The project combines this visual system with a fun and relatable Spanglish language inspired by internet culture and digital communication. Instead of presenting emotions through technical or clinical definitions, Moodie reinterprets them in a more playful and accessible way: “overthinking mode”, “social battery dead”, or “main character energy”.
Alongside each generated sticker, dynamic cards explain the meaning behind the emotion using simple language and visual cues. These cards help users identify, understand, and communicate what they feel in a more natural and engaging way.
By combining circular emotional forms, dynamic stickers, and playful emotional language, Moodie creates a new system of emotional expression adapted to the digital generation.
